At the triumphal entry, Jesus carries out a number of eschatological actions. He stops at the Mt. of Olives. He rides into town on a colt. He fulfills the feast of booths, riding on the symbolic clouds to enter the temple. Along the way he evaluates the fig tree and curses it, and then he cleanses out the temple, signifying a negative judgment on faithless Israel.
And then after it all, he instructs Peter to forgive sins.
