Before I describe all of the conference activities, I do have to say that the big surprise guru was Wes Baker. That guy’s pretty awesome. I think he could teach us all a few things. He could definitely teach in our Reformed Seminaries, but he’s committed to Peru Mission which keeps him out of the country most of the time, and this is a great thing too.
Wes surprised some of us by pulling out a Thomistic critique of Van Til. More proof of morphic resonance.
So basically everyone should give all their money to Peru Mission. They operate on a parish model, planting churches, along with schools, hospitals, and economic development centers. It is very exciting, and I wish them well.
Wes and his wife have an English blog and a Spanish blog. Check em out.
Wes taught the history of philosophy and Christian thought class my first year at RTS. He’s a good guy.
One should mention that Wes didn’t actually speak at the conference – just on the Grete’s back porch.
He spoke from the chair.
Wonderful: thank you!
Bishop Wes
I agree, Wes Baker is a master guru! Great person and great theologian. I like to call him: Bishop Wes.
I consider his disciple even I never work with him. We were in different cities and different Presbyteries in Peru. I hope all Presbyterians in Peru follow Wes Baker model and vision.
Van Til misunderstood Aquinas, I think that is clear and evident.

I’m no episcopalian, but I’d put the mitre on Wes’ head myself. Remarkable man, and remarkable work: from what I can tell of Peru Mission, Steven is right- people should very generously support it.
